We received a styrofoam cooler full of Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels, and we couldn’t have been more excited! After determining that is was okay to refreeze the thawed pretzels, I moved them to the freezer for a later date.

The first ones we tried were the Cheddar Jalapeno Pretzels. We cooked them in the oven, and let them cook just a little too long, they weren’t quite burnt…but almost. It said to cook for 12-15 minutes in the oven, and the timer was set for 15 minutes when they likely would have been done at 12 minutes. Anyway, they were still very good. I love jalapenos, but I don’t want to be guzzling water in order to enjoy them, and these pretzels were not too hot, just nicely flavoured. The pretzel was soft and good. Mike also really enjoyed it.

Next we tried the Cheese and Egg Stuffed Bagels. These ones were done in the microwave, and they were cooked on the outside and not on the inside. I had to nuke it for 20 extra seconds and then it was fine. They tasted fine. I didn’t really notice a lot of egg taste, mostly just bagel. Eric really like his, although he also had to microwave his in order for it to be cooked.

The Cinnamon Stuffed Bagel was not very well liked here. Griffin, Eric and I tried it, and I was the only one to finish mine. The cinnamon filling had a very strong taste that the kids didn’t like at all. I thought it was okay, but I probably wouldn’t have it again. It was disappointing because this was one I thought I would love.

The Spinach Feta Pretzels weren’t very popular here either, but I think that was more of a case of no one liking spinach. I know, I know…we should eat spinach, but I only like it in salad.

The Chocolate Crumb Pretzel was a little piece of Heaven. I only wish I didn’t have to share it with four kids. It wasn’t too sweet, just delicious.

The Apple Cinnamon is tied with the Chocolate Crumb for most delicious. It was divine! This reminded me of  hot apple pie.

Eric and Mike tried the Pizza Pretzels and neither one of them liked it very much. I tried a little bite of one and didn’t think it was too bad. I would eat it again.

Kellen and Avery ate the Grilled Cheese Pretzels, since grilled cheese is one of their favourite things. They both loved it.

The one unexpected thing I found with these pretzels is that they are better when they are cooked in the microwave! I hate how long it takes to bake things in the oven, but I usually choose that route because I don’t like soggy or soft bread. These come out of the microwave with a crispy crust just as you would expect from the oven. When made in the oven, they are a little crispier than I would prefer.

Kim and Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels are more than just great pretzels. They are also eco-friendly. For every new online membership to their Pretzel club, they plant a tree!
