Over the last few years, I have been making the shift to all natural products in my home. I don’t want my children breathing chemicals and handling toxic materials by just playing and living in their own homes. So, when I heard about Vermont Soap Organics Aromatherapy Air Fresheners, I was anxious to learn more.
There are so many products out there that claim to be natural that it’s hard to know which ones are truly free of chemicals and which ones aren’t. Vermont Soap Organics Explains what “natural” means to them.
From the Vermont Soap Organics Website…
What does “Natural” mean at Vermont Soap Organics? It means no artificial colors and fragrances and no testing on animals. It means using Rosemary extract as a preservative, not a chemically-derived formula. Natural is about better choices and the responsibility inherent in those choices: organic before pesticides; botanicals before artificial colors and fragrances; vegetable-based before animal-based; and reusable before disposable. Natural is about big-picture thinking. It’s about socially responsible business, looking at how we source, formulate and package and reuse or safely dispose of what’s left. It’s about the relationship between producer and consumer and the planet that we share. Natural cannot be codified like the ten commandments. It is about staying as close to the original form as possible. Natural is about developing an integrated long-term view of everything that we do.
I received the Peppermint Magic, Lavender Ecstacy and Lemongrass Zen air fresheners. I love the bottles that these come in. The are pumps that spray a light mist. The bottles are 8 fluid ounces and will last a very long time.
I can’t use aerosol air fresheners. I have asthma and they make me feel like I can’t breathe when they are sprayed in the room. I am also sensitive to a lot of scents. These air fresheners didn’t impact my breathing or trigger my asthma and the scents weren’t overwhelming to me. One spray is definitely enough for a room, but it is not overpowering.
All of these air fresheners have a unique scent to them. I can’t pinpoint what it is, but my son suggested that he can smell grass (no, not the wonky kind) and I think that’s the most accurate description. They smell like the fresh outdoors.
The Peppermint Magic also has a light peppermint scent to it that reminds me of candy canes. It’s perfect for Christmas!
The Lemongrass Zen has a lemony scent that seems to trigger an energy boost in me. It is one I will definitely be using during the day when I need a little boost.
The Lavender Ecstacy has a delicate and relaxing lavender scent. I have used lavender as a calming scent for my children for years, and I will be using this in the bedroom areas to help get them sleeping. We need all of the help we can get in that area!
