Family Fishing Weekend

February 19-21, 2011 is  designated as OFFW license-free fishing days. During all other periods, most Canadian residents between the ages of 18 and 64 years must purchase an OUTDOORS card and a fishing license to legally fish in Ontario, but to celebrate Family Day… you are free to fish in Ontario!

Join us for Bubbleology Show at 1:30pm: Watch a bubble artist create giant massive bubbles, bubble volcanoes, bubble carousels, bubble caterpillars, smoke bubbles and even put kids in bubbles!

Join Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery for a fun-filled day of activities that parents and children can do together. Drop in to have fun exploring the Gallery, create art inspired by exhibition themes, listen to a story and participate in dramatic play. Admission to Family Day is free!

Waterloo Public Square Monday, February 21, 2011 from 5 to 8 pm Skating, colouring, face painting, balloon animals, entertainers, music, games and great food! Skate rentals will be available on site during the fair. This is a FREE event for all ages (costs may apply for certain activities and food items).

The Ariss & District Branch Lions Club, Township of Guelph\Eramosa and Checkers Fun Factory invite you to a fun filled day of jumping castles, carnival games, information booths and more. The brand new indoor recreation facility –the Royal Distributing Athletic Performance Centre – will be transformed into an amazing place for children and parents to play, explore and spend some fun family time together. Checkers Fun Factory will be transforming our indoor sports field into a giant playground with a variety of inflatable jumpers, climbers and challenges for children of all ages. A variety of local organizations will be providing information and interactive activities for families including Emergency Services, Lions Foundation Guide Dogs Program, Lions Quest, Wellington County Library, Guelph lake Nature Centre and so much more. Hotdogs and drinks will also be available at an additional cost. Proceeds for the event will be going to support the Ariss & District Branch Lions Club.

February 21st, 2011 Spend Family Day at the Simcoe County Museum and enjoy traditional indoor and outdoor winter activities including snowshoeing, tobogganing, and family favourite board games. Test your navigational skills in an exercise combining snowshoeing and orienteering. The Really Big Shoe will have your family racing together as you snowshoe through the Museum grounds searching for pieces to complete a puzzle in the fastest possible time.  Simcoe County Museum is owned and operated by the County of Simcoe and offers year round exhibits, events and educational programs for visitors of every age.
