If there is one thing I dislike doing as an adult its car shopping. Maybe because I have the worst luck with cars or I hate dealing with the salesmen, either way it stinks. So when we had to start looking a couple months ago it’s safe to say I was dreading it. I couldn’t just let the Mr. go by himself because then he’d come back with a sporty 2-door car that is a pain to deal with when you have a child and all the things they feel are a necessity to bring with even on simple trips. While I wasn’t looking forward to the car buying process I wanted to stop at our local Chrysler dealer first mainly because I knew it’d put me in the car buying state of mind.
Our family has a great love for Chrysler just because my Grandma and Grandpa retired out of there in the late 90’s and we’ve been to our local Chrysler plant when they’ve had family events out there. It was definitely neat being inside after listening to all the stories my Grandma would tell us about working there. I always remember how she’d tell us they were well made and cars you could trust. I still hear her words when we car shop and the Husband always says she’s the guiding light to getting me on board with the whole process. Of course my Grandparents received a great retiring gift from the company for the many years they worked for the company, my Aunt has owned a PT Cruiser and I even had my eye on a Chrysler Pacifica but it was bought before we could agree to the terms. Of course the son only wants a car that has a DVD player in it, even though I’ve told him quite a few times we can always add it on later and he doesn’t quite get that so he vetoed a lot of car options and was later left with the Grandparents while we shopped.
My husband always gets a good joke that buying Chrysler is in my blood or that we do for sentimental reasons … which could be true but I know we’re getting a well made car that believes in treating their employees right, so why not prefer them? I can’t be the only one that prefers a certain brand/type of car over any other right?
