I was at a brand event recently, where all of the bloggers and brand representatives had the pleasure of sitting down together for dinner. We had some great conversation about a variety of topics, and it circled around to travel. I said how my family loves Disney World and how we always joke that we would like to live there…I mean, at Disney World. I could take up residence in Cinderella’s Castle, I mean…I hear there’s a beautiful suite in there so it’s all ready for me, right? My love for Disney was of course shared by others, and then one of the women said that her favourite place on earth is Hawaii.
I have to admit, while I have seen pictures of Hawaii, like on this site for Kauai vacation home rentals, but I have never really had it in my mind as a place I wanted to visit, that is until I heard her talking about it. She said that her whole family went to Hawaii on vacation, and they thought it was a once in a lifetime thing. On the day they had to leave, they were all crying…adults and children alike…because they didn’t want to leave. They loved it that much, and no one calmed down until they made the decision to return. And they have returned, because they loved it so much. Now I feel like I need to visit, just to experience it. It looks beautiful of course, but I suspect the appeal is more about the culture and the people than just the beaches and beauty of it all. I realized what an impact that has when I went to California and found everyone to be so relaxed and easy to get along with. I could definitely get used to that! So, now I have adjusted my travel bucket list to include Hawaii, because if it is that good, I have to go there.
Is there any place you never thought you would want to go, until someone changed your mind?
