Well, it’s official. Winter is here. Once again, my wish for a winter with no snow has gone unacknowledged (most likely because I have three little children here who veto my wish) and the ground outside is white. Here is the view out my back door yesterday…

What was a sad moment for me, was one of the best days ever for our kids. Children from all over the neighbourhood started appearing in the yards, and mine were anxious to be right out there with them. We have had the hats and little knit mittens out for awhile, but when the kids are going to be crawling in the snow and building snowmen, we need snow pants and some gloves that will keep their hands dry. This meant pulling out my bins of winter stuff and digging through to find what we need. I try to be really diligent about washing everything before it’s put away in the bins for the warmer months, but there is still that “been packed away in a bin for six months” smell when we pull out the winter stuff. As a former hockey mom, I know how to deal with smelly clothes….Lysol Fabric Mist!

The Lysol Fabric Mist is fantastic. I love the crisp linen scent. I’m not crazy about floral scents so I often avoid this type of product, but the crisp linen is fresh and not over powering. It does it’s job, which is to make everything smell like it was just washed. We got everything smelling great and sent the kids outside to enjoy the snow. The crawled and rolled around in the snow and came in soaking wet. They put their mittens and hats on the vents to dry (a little trick we do to save energy costs) and once they were dry I got out the fabric mist again. I think I’ll be using it a lot, unless this is the only snowfall of the season! A girl can dream.
