Last December my family and I went to Florida together for the first time. It was a trip with a lot of firsts for all of us, and I wanted Disney World to be on that list of firsts. We managed to work out a one day visit that we spent at the Magic Kingdom. It was … magical (sorry to sound cliche). The parades, the shows, the rides…it was just perfect and we were all immediately hooked on Disney. My only regret was that we couldn’t visit for more than one day, but it wasn’t in the cards for that trip.
When we returned home, I was determined to get us back to Disney. I worked hard and arranged another trip. This time we were able to visit Disney for two days, and we went back to the Magic Kingdom, visited the Animal Kingdom and made a brief (and somewhat wet) stop at Hollywood Studios. It was another incredible visit, but when we left I still wished that we could really experience Disney entirely…by staying at a Disney resort and visiting all of the parks.
Well, dreams really do come true. My family was invited to the Grand Opening of the New Fantasyland at Walt Disney World, which meant we would be spending 5 days at the Art of Animation Resort and visiting all of the parks. I can’t even begin to explain how excited I was about this trip. We watched the Disney vacation videos, not just for Disney World, but also for the Disneyland and the Disney Cruise lines. We bought a Hidden Mickey book and prepared to find some more hidden mickeys, and we bought some Disney pins online. I was literally counting down the days, and eventually the hours.
And then it was time to go, and we arrived at Disney World. It was the most incredible trip….an opportunity of a lifetime really, and I feel so blessed to have been a part of it. Over the next couple of weeks, I am going to tell you all about our trip and all of the great attractions at Disney World. You will get to hear about the New Fantasyland, the Art of Animation Resort, the new Test Track at Epcot, Splitsville at Downtown Disney, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and the beautiful Osborne Lights at Hollywood Studios. So keep visiting to learn more about Disney World and how your dreams can come true too.
