It’s a New Year and with 2013 I am optimistic for change! For families struggling with infertility, I not only hope for new pregnancies and new babies…but also for change. I hope for change in legislation and for added funding to OHIP to include IVF treatment. The benefits of government funding for IVF are huge, and I created an infographic to demonstrate.

So as you can see, there is a savings of $28-$38 million dollars annually by funding IVF. We can have healthier and happier families, fewer infants dealing with long term health issues, and more money available to the government. It’s a Win-Win situation!

Follow @OHIP4IVF on Twitter or the hashtag #OHIP4IVF to support government funding for IVF.

  1. Sheri, I think this turned out great! Good on you! ;)

  2. Wow! Great info graphic. Thanks!

  3. I hope the very best for all of these families going through IVF.

  4. I just realized there is one small clarification – IVF – women conceiving via IVF are 17 % more likely to give birth to multiples. The rate ends up being lower when Single Embryo Transfer is the standard practice, which is what we are advocating for in Ontario so there are fewer costs to health care systems that are already overburdened. I love that you took this information and turned it into an info graphic. Outstanding!

  5. This is a very informative infographic, thanks for sharing!
