I am on a mission to lose weight and get strong. I get bored easily, so I need a variety of activities and exercises to alternate between. Paying for a gym membership isn’t in my budget right now, and my time is limited, so I also need activities that are low cost and can be done at home. Sportline sent me a Weighted Resistance Ball and a Quick Adjust Suspension X-Trainer to try out, and they are turning out to be great tools in my fitness journey.

The Weighted Resistance Ball looks like the larger exercise balls on the market, but it’s only 35 cm and it is weighted (5 lbs).

Discover the benefits of suspension training. With it’s innovative Lock-n-Load Quick Adjust pods, you can rapidly customize the Quick Adjust rope length to vary your intensity levels and to efficiently move from one exercise to the next. The system includes 2 Quick Adjust pods with suspension rope, a door anchor, 2 handles, 2 foot straps, a foot cradle and instructional DVD. And since the system mounts to standard doors without screws or drilling, you can easily set up, store and travel with this quality home gym unit.

The instructions that came in the box said to follow the special instructions for filling the ball, so as not to over fill it, but I could not find any instructions for this. I went ahead and filled it as much as I felt  was appropriate. The ball also came with a page of suggested exercises and a DVD that demonstrates the exercises for you. I found the DVD very helpful because it gave details that I couldn’t necessarily get from looking at the pictures.

Exercises to do with your Sportline Weighted Resistance Ball

This ball has been excellent for helping me work my core muscles, which is where I need the most help. I thought that 5lbs wouldn’t make much of a difference, but it is the perfect amount of resistance!

I have also been using the Quick Adjust Suspension X-Trainer to work on my upper body strength.

It also came with a DVD and instructional sheet that were very helpful. There is a variety of exercises to do with the x-trainer, but I have run into one major technical difficulty…my home! I don’t have a doorway that has the appropriate amount of space in front of it to do many of the exercises. I can do the upper body exercises though and I can already feel the differences in my shoulder strength.

Overall, I’m happy to add these two items to my fitness regime. They fit perfectly into a busy Mom’s schedule and they don’t break the bank.
