One of the challenges of being a blogger is keeping up with email. I get hundreds and sometimes even thousands of emails in a day, and I need to stay on top of it. If I don’t have access to my email for a few hours or even days, my inbox fills up with press releases, spam, personal emails and business emails. It all meshes together and before I know it, I’m overwhelmed and I end up missing some of the important emails. That is why I need to have an email app on my mobile devices. Incredimail has a new email app for ipad that makes it easy!
Incredimail is announcing this week a game changing mail client built from the ground up for a touch screen experience. The new app introduces a completely new UI concept for email that allows users to flip, peak, and quickly scan through their emails to provide the most pleasant email experience.
The iPad has ushered in multiple revolutionary new applications and Incredimail has long desired to reimagine the email experience and improve it for all users across multiple platforms. The iPad, the proverbial blank slate, provided the perfect platform to create an innovative new experience.
Incredimail for iPad attempts to give a new experience and outlook to email for touch devices while enhancing its user friendly GUI. The most striking feature is the reimagined inbox which displays emails in a visually organized, easy-to-navigate interface with a beautiful magazine layout, specially designed for a touch interface.
Incredimail allows you to set up multiple email accounts from Gmail, Yahoo!, AOL and other IMAP services all in one place. POP3 accounts are not currently available but will be soon. I use POP3 but I have it forwarded to a Gmail account, so I can still access it through Incredimail. Once you set up your accounts you can download email from all of them at once, or you can choose your email accounts one at a time. You can view the inbox, spam, drafts, etc just like on Gmail.
When your email loads into Incredimail it hows up with these little sneak peeks where you can see a brief snippet of the email contents and sometimes a photo. By choosing “edit” you can select the emails you would like to delete.
To open an email, tap on it and it will appear like the email below. If you want it to be full screen, you select the arrows in the top right corner. Reply and forward are below the email, and the arrow on the top left will take you back to the inbox.
A really great feature with Incredimail is the built-in web browser. The email above contained a link that I wanted to see. I clicked it and was taken right to the website where I can view the link sent to me (that cute little pouty girl at the top left is my daughter) without actually leaving my email. Just clicking the “close” button at the top left returned me to the original email.
Incredimail offers cute stationery to spruce up your outgoing email, or you can choose not to use it as well. You can take a photo or video and attach it immediately to the message you are composing, which is a neat little feature that I think would come in handy for sending family pictures of the kids or share a video of their newest accomplishment. I was unable to find a way to attach a photo or document stored on the iPad.
Overall, I’m enjoying the Incredimail app for iPad. It’s keeping my email organized all in once place and I find it much easier to respond to email on the iPad than on my smartphone. This app is being developed for iPhone and Android and they are working on a new Incredimail experience for the desktop as well.
