The Piggyback Rider Deluxe is perfect for growing kids

10 Flares 10 Flares ×

Most parents have been where we are with our youngest child. He’s five years old and getting a little big to ride in a stroller, but he still gets tired on long walks or day trips. He’s too heavy for me to carry, and my husband finds him a little heavy too. The Deluxe Piggyback Rider is the perfect solution. He can easily and safely ride on either of our backs without being too heavy for us and without putting on the choke hold that tends to happen with piggy back rides.

The Piggyback Rider has several safety features. The adult harness clips across the chest, and the child’s harness tethers to the adult’s harness at the shoulders. There are handles on the shoulder straps that the child can hold onto, and the bar has a safety grip so the child’s feet won’t slip off of it. Even if he did slip, the harness and tethers would keep him safe. The bar height is easily adjusted so your child can be at whatever height is comfortable. The whole system has a canvas carrying bag and it weighs just over 2lbs.

Wished you had the perfect kid carrier backpackfor your toddler! The Piggyback Rider® is a standing child carrier for older children that creates a mutually enjoyable, effortless way to carry a child (2½+ years) on your back, replacing bulky backpack carriers and strollers. It functions like a backpack, utilizing a shoulder-mounted foot-bar to distribute the child’s weight (up to 60 lbs.) at your core, which enables a natural upright walking posture. The child stands firmly on the wide foot-bar, holding integrated grab handles and secured by a safety tether.

This particular model of the Piggyback Rider has a little backpack for the child to wear, and it has a water pouch in it so if you are out for a long hike, it can be filled with water and your child can stay hydrated. The attachment on the adult back also has a small pocket up top, so it is a very practical piece of equipment in a lot of ways.

I know this is going to be a piece of equipment that goes with us on a lot of adventures. My son is just over 40lbs and even I could easily carry him with the Piggyback Rider Deluxe. It’s good for children up to 60lbs so we will get at least a couple of years out of it.

Disclosure: I was provided a Deluxe Piggyback Rider for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.
