Cruise Destinations in 2014
Whether you’re looking for an Alaskan wildlife experience or prefer the Caribbean, Disney Cruise Line has plenty to offer in 2014. Ports that remain on the itinerary from last year include various Caribbean spots as well as Alaska. But in 2014, the cruise line is expanding its port destinations to include different countries and continents. New destinations include:
- San Diego
- Venice, Italy
- San Juan, Puerto Rico
Disney Cruise in San Diego
San Diego offers some of the best shopping, dining and entertainment in the world. The city is positioned just north of Mexico and is known for its perfect climate.
Don’t miss the San Diego Zoo, or better yet, visit the zoo and its sister attraction, San Diego Safari Park. The park is 1,800 acres of exotic wildlife. It’s home to 3,500 animals, some of which roam freely in open habitats.
If shopping and dining are more your thing, check out Old Town San Diego or the Gaslamp Quarter. With plenty of restaurants, theatres and museums, these areas offer a taste of California culture.
Of course, San Diego is also home to white, sandy beaches. With such a diverse culture, you won’t be disappointed in southern California.
Disney Cruise in Venice, Italy
Perhaps the most fantasized-about city in Europe, Venice offers a unique culture with traditions that date back thousands of years. Ride on a gondola, or sample customary Italian cuisine in this historic city.
Venice is a string of more than 100 islands interconnected by hundreds of bridges and canals. Cars aren’t allowed here, and the Venetian-Gothic architecture preserves the feel of the centuries-old infrastructure.
Disney Cruise in San Juan, Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico offers a rich culture with traditions dating back to the conquistadors. A stroll through San Juan offers a glimpse at ancient churches, cobblestone streets, bustling markets and brightly colored buildings. As the oldest city in Puerto Rico under U.S. jurisdiction, San Juan is a destination unlike any other in North America.
The terrain of Puerto Rico merges mountains with ocean. This unique combination created a series of natural caves, reefs and cliffs; there’s plenty to quench your thirst for adventure.
New Attractions, Same Great Experience
The cruise line maintains its world-class dining and engaging youth activities, including youth clubs and children’s pools, and there’s plenty of opportunity for your child to interact with his or her favorite Disney characters.
There’s no shortage of entertainment for adults, too. Adult-exclusive dining options include Remy and Palo. These restaurants offer intimate settings coupled with French- and Italina-style cuisines, respectively.
You also can spend your time relaxing by the pool or lounging in one of the nightclubs. Grab an Irish beer and watch live sports at O’Gill’s Pub, or read a book and enjoy a snack at Cafe Cove. If you’re riding on the Disney Fantasy, The Tube is a futuristic nightclub with a metropolitan feel.
Modern exercise facilities are available in the fitness center. Additionally, you could unwind with spa or salon services. Get a makeover, a massage or simply relax and enjoy the ocean view.
There’s something for the entire family on a Disney cruise. More options means that you can customize your vacation the way you want. Escape and relax or socialize and try new experiences. With so many destinations and attractions, Disney Cruise Line could be a fantastic way to spend your vacation.
