Since I entered my forties I have been more focused on a healthy lifestyle. I guess it took turning forty to realize that my choices really do impact my health and my quality of life. I mean, of course I knew that before, but it all became very apparent in the last couple of years. So now I run three or more times a week, walk daily and try to make healthy choices when I eat. I do not diet. I choose foods that are real, food that contains the nutrients I need, food that has health benefits to me, and food that will keep me feeling full so I’m not looking for snacks so often.

Protein is great for snacking because it does keep you feeling full longer, and it helps build muscle. I prefer to get my protein from natural sources that don’t contain added sugar and carbs. Protinis are perfect for this. Since I put them in the fridge they have been nabbed by my body builder son who thinks they are a fantastic idea. My husband is also trying to focus on his health and he enjoys them, but the one that really impressed me was my ten year old daughter. She and I tried Protinis with Salsa first, and we both really enjoyed them. She keeps eating Protinis as a snack, right out of the package. I think it’s great…she’s getting needed protein and not snacking on junk. It’s a win/win!

While I enjoy Protinis on their own, I also love to add them to salad. I added the Sweet Thai Chili Chicken to the salad above and it was delicious. They are good in a wrap with some hummus too!
