There is only two weeks left of summer so we are in full “back to school” mode. New clothes, new backpacks, new lunch bags. new bedtimes (I like this one) and big plans for a successful school year are all on the agenda. We have been going through drawers and closets and clearing out the stuff that doesn’t fit in order to make room for this year’s wardrobe. My 11 year old’s clothing gets boxed up for his little brother to use in a year or two and the rest is sorted to go to friends and family. I know how much I have always appreciated hand me downs, and I love to pass on clothes to people who will also appreciate them.

In the past I have bought my kids a lot of denim. It’s what I grew up wearing and it stands up to time really well, but I realized my kids just won’t wear it anymore. They prefer comfort so this year we are in search of some school clothes that are both comfortable and fashionable. I think Sears has just what we need with their top quality brands and reasonable prices, they carry dresses, leggings, fleece, cargo pants and so much more than my kids will look and feel good in.

Sears is not only a great place to shop for back to school because of their selection, but also because they have joined in the spirit of giving with their Surprise & Delights program.

This year, throughout the month of August, Sears Canada (The Kids Room) will be, and has been, helping families with school-aged children get ready for back-to-school so they can Rock the Halls!  Across Canada, Sears will be, and have been, surprising shoppers by providing their purchases to them for FREE!

Take a look at how they surprise some shoppers in the video below.

The giving doesn’t stop there. To help families get ready for back to school, Sears Canada and Converse will be providing the Girls and Boys Club of Canada with $10,000 worth of back to school apparel!

Sears Canada have been a proud supporter for over 40 years of Boys and Girls Club across Canada (BGCC), Canada’s leading provider of quality after school programs that support the healthy physical, educational, social and mental development of Canadian children and youth.  Sears shares Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada’s philosophy that providing all Canadian children and youth with access to opportunity is essential to helping them achieve their full potential and create a better future.

Sears Canada will also be rewarding their Facebook fans by surprising them throughout the month of August with opportunities to win a $100 Sears gift card. One of my lucky readers can also win a $100 Sears Gift Card!
