In a big and busy family we are always looking for ways to save time without compromising quality. Walmart seems to understand this because they have everything I need in one convenient place, including good quality food. I love that I can stop in the store and get the kids any clothes they need, grab the latest DVDs, pick up some household items and head over to the grocery section to grab the ingredients for a delicious meal. I found this recipe for Slow Cooker Pot Roast on the Walmart website and wanted to give it a try, so I picked up everything you see below at Walmart.
I found this Sirloin Tip Angus Beef Roast that looked fantastic. It’s a larger roast than the recipe calls for, but my family loves a good roast and this was a top quality one, so I went for the bigger cut. This is 100% Canadian beef and it’s a great price for such a great cut of meat. I also picked up some carrots and potatoes from the produce section and a box of onion soup mix like the recipe called for. This recipe asked me to put the roast in a pan and brown it first, so I did that and then set it up in my slow cooker where it cooked for 5.5 hours.
I used some of the juice from the slow cooker to make a gravy as well, and then we enjoyed this great dinner! This beef was so tender it practically melted in our mouths. The package said it was mechanically tenderized and I don’t know what exactly they did, but it was fantastic. Even all of my picky kids enjoyed it.
Walmart carries a variety of fresh Canadian proteins at great prices, and they have several recipes available on their website. It’s great to know I can treat my family to a delicious meal without a great amount of time, effort or money invested in it!
