12 Delicious Thanksgiving Side Dish Recipes

By Sheri 4 Comments

Autumn is my favourite season. With the cooler temperatures and the colours in the trees, the smell of campfires and the freshly picked vegetables make Fall a time for warmth and comfort. Thanksgiving is another highlight for the season and here are 12 delicious Thanksgiving side dish recipes for you to share on your table.

Waldorf Salad

This fresh and cool waldorf salad is an excellent way to kick off your Thanksgiving dinner. I can feel the crispness of the apples mixed with the sweet yogurt just by looking at the picture.

Broccoli Salad

Another delicious and healthy salad is broccoli salad. Raw broccoli is one of the few vegetables that all of my children will eat, and this salad does not disappoint.

Corn Succotash: Gluten-free & Weight Watchers Friendly

Pay homage to Anthony Bourdain this Thanksgiving by sharing his succotash recipe with your loved ones. A simple to make and colourful dish for the table, it’s one you will want to serve.

Instant Pot Apple & Butternut Squash Soup

Nothing says fall like a rich squash soup and this apple and butternut squash soup adds a unique twist to a traditional soup by including the sweet fruit.

Instant Pot Pumpkin Risotto

Another warm Thanksgiving starter that is sure to be a hit is pumpkin risotto. It is creamy, seasonal and a treat that your guests will love.

Maple Glazed Carrots with Bacon

I like to serve several vegetables on my Thanksgiving table and these maple glazed carrots with bacon look too good to pass on.

Roasted Green Beans

Green beans are a popular Thanksgiving vegetable and this recipes gives a twist to the traditional green bean dishes.

Garlic Butter Parsley Potatoes

Potatoes are my weakness, particularly when roasted or baked. These garlic butter parsley potatoes have my mouth watering and will look amazing next to our turkey.

Candied Yams

The one dish that I am not allowed to skip making for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner is candied yams. It is the reason my adult son comes back on the holidays and it also brings back many special memories for me.

Brussel Sprouts and Bacon

They say bacon makes everything better so I can’t think of a better place to add it than to brussel sprouts. I actually enjoy roasted brussel sprouts but I know they are not a preference for my kids. Maybe this will get them to change their minds.

Cranberry Roasted Butternut Squash

Another creative side dish using butternut squash is this cranberry roasted butternut squash. The cranberries add a burst of colour and just the right amount of tang to offset the squash.

Pineapple-Orange Cranberry Sauce

While I’ve never been a fan of cranberry sauce, it is always on my table as I have many family members who do enjoy it. This pineapple-orange cranberry sauce sounds like a fresh alternative to the traditional sauce.

Any of these Thanksgiving side dish recipes will look fantastic with your turkey dinner. Check back later in the week for some low carb Thanksgiving recipes.

Perfect timing. I’ve been thinking what to make for a side. The Waldorf Salad looks good. I like the idea of a fruit option
