A Charlie Brown Valentine
As a child of the seventies, I grew up watching Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang. I loved Peppermint Patty and Linus, and A Charlie Brown Christmas was my favourite Christmas special. We eagerly awaited the Great Pumpkin every Halloween too! I am glad to have shared those fond memories with my children when we have watched the Peanuts specials together, and I was given another chance to do that when A Charlie Brown Valentine arrived!
Kellen and Avery have been excited about Valentine’s Day, so I didn’t have to convince them to watch A Charlie Brown Valentine with me. Griffin is only three years old and not as good at watching entire programs on television, so he stopped to watch a few minutes at a time which is no small feat for a three year old!
We all enjoyed the movie. It was the first time my kids had seen this particular Charlie Brown movie, so they really enjoyed it, and we all enjoyed watch the bonus TV special “Someday You’ll Find Her, Charlie Brown”. That one brought back memories because I don’t think I have seen it since I was a kid! Poor Charlie Brown is just not lucky in love.
I like that I can put a Charlie Brown DVD in and not worry about what my kids are watching. I know there won’t be anything inappropriate that they will see, and I can be comfortable knowing it is good family viewing. I also like that Charlie Brown focuses on friendship and often teaches valuable life lessons in their programs.
