If you are a fan of the Dragon’s Den, you probably know about CardSwap.ca. I first heard of CardSwap when I saw them introduce their business to the investors on the Dragon’s Den, a visit which had a happy ending. CardSwap is a site where you can sell gift cards that you don’t want, buy gift cards that you do want, and earn points towards future purchases while buying and selling.
To try the site out, I was given a credit to shop for cards. I purchased a $50 Cineplex Card and a $50 Bon Appetit Card. Shopping and purchasing the cards was very easy. I could look through all of the available cards on the site, and add them to my cart with a simple click. Once I made my purchase, I was able to look up my orders on the CardSwap site to see if they had been mailed yet and to see how many SwapPoints I earned with my purchase.
SwapPoints are reward points earned with each purchase you make on CardSwap. When selling gift cards to CardSwap, you have the option of accepting cash or SwapPoints to use towards a future purchase. SwapPoints generally earn you a little more than cash, and if you have a gift card you are interested in purchasing, they are probably the better choice to make! As you can see below, I earned 425 SwapPoints with my purchase. The number of points varies from merchant to merchant, and of course they increase with the value of the gift card you are purchasing. 1000 SwapPoints will get you a $10 gift card from CardSwap.

My gift cards arrived to me very quickly, and to be safe I checked the balance of each of them and found them to be exactly what I purchased. I was so impressed with how quickly they came, and that I can earn reward points for future purchases, that I went back onto CardSwap.ca and set up a Wish List of cards I would be interested in purchasing as Christmas gifts. Now when one of them becomes available, I get an email telling me that one of my wish list is ready for purchase. You can purchase cards with a credit card or through paypal, which I really appreciate the convenience of.

One of my lucky readers will have the chance to win a $50 credit to CardSwap so you can purchase your own cards!
