Win a Fellowes Shredder ARV $189.99 {Canada}

fellowesI have a bad habit. Okay, I have more than one bad habit, but this one is presenting an immediate problem for me. Since I run my own business, I need to keep all of my invoices and receipts to use at tax time. Instead of sorting through each invoice, receipts and bills as they come in, I just keep them all. I put it all in a wicker basket that is overflowing by January and the sight of it makes me cringe. It’s not really because I think I need them all, because I know I don’t. I keep it all because I hate to throw away anything with my private information on it, and it’s easier to just add it to the pile and deal with it later. Later has arrived!

It’s time to do taxes and its also the time I regret keeping every piece of paper that comes across my desk. It is the worst habit! My new Fellowes 63Cb Shredder is just what I need to break my habit. No more paper hoarding for me … now I’m shredding what I don’t need! I actually had a lot of fun getting started. There’s something slightly therapeutic about shredding the unwanted papers, and with this machine I can shred my old credit cards too! I actually had quite a pile of used gift cards, expired membership cards and hotel keys, so I got to work shredding them all.

Fellowes 2

Aside from being fun to use, the shredder is going to help me maintain a much higher level of organization for the coming year. I put some folders into my wicker basket (I prefer it to a filing cabinet) and now I will just keep what I actually need for my taxes. That will be a huge time saver! Being able to shred sensitive documents gives me some peace of mind too. March is Fraud Prevention month too, so it’s the perfect time to start focusing on protecting our privacy.

One of my lucky readers will win a Fellowes 63Cb Shredder, and here is some more important information about this shredder:

  • Space-saving desk-side shredder
  • Jam Blocker™ blocks jams before they start
  • SafeSense® Technology stops shredding when hands touch the paper opening
  • Energy Saving System provides optimal energy efficiency 100% of the time – in use and out of use
  • Shreds 10 sheets per pass in 5/32″ x 2″ cross-cut particles (Security Level 3)
  • Shreds for up to 8 minutes on before a 20 minute cool down
  • 5 gallon pull-out bin
  • Shreds staples, credit cards and paper clips
  • Sold at Staples

    Dollar store file folders and box to put receipts and bills in at the end of each month. Till then write on the back of receipts what they are for and put in a shoe pox. Take time on the last day of the money to sort receipts into different categories and put them in the appropriate file. This also helps show where money is being spent and what could be saved. Can also use open office to make a spread sheet to track info. For important purchases I scan the receipt the put it in my free online storage to if there is a disaster I still have important info.
