In today’s 24/7 world, people are often going right up until they have to get to bed, leaving them unable to turn off their minds so they can relax and fall asleep. In fact, according to the National Sleep Foundation (NSF), 41 percent of Americans report having problems with tossing and turning at least a few nights a week.[1] Often, people jump to drastic measures to help with their sleep issues, but what many do not realize is that great sleep can actually start in the laundry room with a simple switch in caring for bedtime fabrics such as bed linens to pajamas. According to a study conducted by Healthcare Analytics Research (HRA), 100 percent of doctors polled report that an appropriate sleeping environment is critical to aiding a person’s ability to relax so they can fall asleep and half of physicians would recommend their patients use clean, lavLender scented bedtime fabrics as a way to help them relax so they can fall asleep.[2]

In support of National Sleep Awareness Week, March 2-9, P&G Fabric Care is launching the Sweet Dreams Collection, including Tide® plus A touch of Downy™ Sweet Dreams™, Downy® UNSTOPABLES® Dreams™, Downy Infusions® Sweet Dreams™, and Bounce® Sweet Dreams™, which can transform your bedtime fabrics to help you relax so you can fall asleep.
The Sweet Dreams Collection – Official Products of the National Sleep Foundation
The Sweet Dreams Collection is a suite of products formulated with ingredients to clean, soften and freshen all your bedtime fabrics, from your bed linens to your pajamas, helping to create a relaxing environment so you can fall asleep. The Sweet Dreams Collections includes:
Tide ® plus A touch of Downy™ Sweet Dreams™: Perfect for sheets, pajamas, and other nighttime fabrics, Tide works to clean fabrics from things you can see, like dirt—to things you can’t see, like perspiration. Includes lavender overtones with gourmand vanilla undertones to create a calming scent to help soothe you to sleep.
Downy ® UNSTOPABLES® Dreams™: An in-wash scent booster that allows consumers to control the amount of lavender scent added to each laundry load. The relaxing lavender scent will provide 12 weeks* of freshness to ensure your bedtime fabrics can always be ready for bedtime.
*Freshness out of storage
Downy Infusions® Sweet Dreams™: Downy Infusions is a premium liquid fabric softener with SilkTouch™ to infuse bed linens with a silky softness that helps create a soft and cozy sleep environment.
- Contains a dual perfume system with Renewing Scent Pearl Technology that imparts your bedtime fabrics with a multi-layered lavender scent experience that continues long after your fabric have been washed.
Bounce ® Sweet Dreams™: Small but mighty— just toss one dryer sheet in the dryer to soften, freshen, control static, and help repel lint and hair on bedtime fabrics.
The “Tuck In. Turn Off.” Pledge
With Daylight Saving Time approaching and an extra hour of sunlight ahead, many people experience increased trouble falling asleep. This is all the more reason for people to begin their bedtime routines in the laundry room and to take the “Tuck In. Turn Off.” pledge.
Many people are aware of the benefits of sleep, but with so many distractions, it’s hard for people to relax so they can fall asleep. According to an HRA study, 54 percent of doctors reported one of their patients’ biggest hindrances to falling asleep is engaging in electronics such as phones, computers and television too close to bedtime.[3] The “Tuck In. Turn Off.” pledge will combat this issue by encouraging people to turn off their technology at least 30 minutes before bedtime and ‘tuck in’ to clean fabrics infused with the soothing scent and softness of the Sweet Dreams Collection.
Take the pledge at www.TuckInTurnOff.com and reward yourself with downloadable materials to let the world know that you’re sleeping better. Show your commitment to better sleep habits on Twitter with the #TuckInTurnOff hashtag.
