Christmas is such a magical time of year. I may slack off on Halloween decorations and I don’t hang Easter eggs in the trees outside of my house in the spring, but I always decorate for Christmas. I put lights up on the house and my wreath on the door. Our Christmas tree goes up early and is equally adorned with handmade ornaments and gorgeous treasures that I have found over the years. I wrap garland and white lights around my bannister and set out my Santa and snowmen on the shelf. The quilted tree skirt that my Mom made goes under our tree and our matching stockings rest under it, since we have no mantel. I’m currently on the hunt for a blow-up Olaf for our front lawn, much to my husband’s dismay and I already have my Santa hat at the ready. Many things transform in my home during the holidays, but my coffee is not one of them.
I was a bit of a late bloomer when it comes to coffee drinking, since I had my first cup of coffee in my mid-thirties. I experimented with different brands and flavours in that first year and figured out what I liked fairly quickly. I am not a cappuccino or espresso kind of girl. I don’t like cream in my coffee and I definitely don’t like flavoured coffees. My favourite cup of coffee is one brewed right at home in my own coffee maker, using Nabob coffee grounds.
Of all of the Nabob types of coffee I prefer the 100% Columbian Summit. My husband likes a stronger cup of coffee so he prefers Nabob Bold Midnight Eclipse. We are serious about our coffee, and we don’t need to fancy it up to enjoy, not even during the holidays. We really do have enough to decorate without touching our coffee. Watch the video below to see what I mean.
Are you serious about your coffee? What do you choose to decorate instead of your coffee?
