It’s the back to school shopping time of year, so we have been out in the stores quite a bit. It’s fun to get the kids some new clothes for school, and a little depressing to have to buy winter coats and boots in August! Last year I waited until the weather was cooler, and there was no selection left, so even though it is sweltering outside, I am looking at winter clothing.
There are so many cute styles out this year, particularly for girls (that’s always the way, isn’t it?). I love that jean jackets are back in style, and the colourful jeans take me back about twenty years when I used to wear them. Even high tops are back in style, although they are much flashier than they were back in my high school days. I kind of like the sequin and sparkly shoes and clothes that are everywhere these days, and my daughter loves them!
Messenger bags and fedoras have also made a comeback, and my kids were excited to get on board with these styles. They look so cute showing off their fedoras. I really wish I had some pictures of me in my fedora when I was 15. It wasn’t exactly in style at that time, but I wore it anyway, lol. It was my trademark!
When the kids’ shopping is done, I like to sneak off to the women’s clothing and see what’s available there. It’s not nearly as flashy or fun as the kids’ sections, but there are some really nice styles out for women right now too. My husband says there are nice men’s styles too, but I rarely look over there, lol.
