Natura by T-Fal is an eco-friendly choice

•

When I moved into my first apartment, nearly 20 years ago, I was ready to cook with my brand new set of T-Fal pots and pans. I chose them because they were not only affordable but they also looked great, came in a variety of sizes and were long lasting. I still have some of those pieces today, and used them exclusively for nearly a decade.

My son has just moved into his first apartment, and I’m happy to send him off with his own Natura T-Fal pans, even though he claims he will not be doing any cooking (I know how much he likes to eat and I think he will probably make a grilled cheese sandwich at some point). The Natura line of pans from T-Fal is even better than the cookware I started with, because it is eco-friendly.

Take a look at the information taken from the T-Fal website…

The new health and environment emphasis is designed to remind consumers that all T-fal cookware, made in France, is and will continue to be recyclable, PFOA, lead, and cadmium free, regardless of price point. This new labeling will be seen in stores beginning June 2009.

Recyclable
As part of the commitment to environmental responsibility, all T-fal coatings are recyclable.

PFOA free
All cookware is PFOA (perfluoro-octanoïc acid) free. Multiple laboratories have tested T-fal non-stick cookware and found the product to be free of PFOA.

Lead free
Lead is a metal that can cause neurological damage as well as various blood disorders. For this reason all T-fal coatings and enamels are lead free.

Cadmium free
All T-fal cookware, produced in France is 100% cadmium free. The inhalation of cadmium fumes can result in pneumo-difficulties. This soft metal is used in some colouring processes, metal plating, and the manufacturing of various synthetics, but never included in the production of T-fal cookware.

I love that I am giving my son some great quality non-stick pans. I love that T-Fal has the spot on the bottom of the pan that lets you know when the pan is hot and ready to cook with (this is perfect for people who are just learning their way around the kitchen). And I love that the Natura line is eco-friendly and free of harmful substances. This gives a Mom some peace of mind!

I fried some eggs and then made some pancakes in a Natura pan, and it remained non-stick and easy to flip pancakes all the way through. It’s great to know that T-Fal continues to be a reliable product!

I’ve never purchased T-Fal cookware, but doing so is something to consider once my existing pots and pans wear out.

Interesting. I didn’t know that “Multiple laboratories have tested T-fal non-stick cookware and found the product to be free of PFOA”. That was always a concern of mine!
