It seems that everyone is talking about nutrition these days. In North America, we are used to having snack foods and fast foods and everything quick and convenient, and that has an adverse affect on our health. I know I am guilty of indulging on too many potato chips and the scale reminds me every time I step on it. Now I am committed to making healthier choices for me and my family. We are eating more fruits and vegetables than we ever have before, and we actually enjoy it! I do still like a crunchy snack though, so I was happy to find Breton Popped! Supergrains.
Like superfruits, “supergrains” are known for their nutritive benefits, such as being high in protein and fibre. Breton® Popped!™ is made with a blend of supergrains, including quinoa, amaranth and millet. To boot, these cracker chips are trans fat and cholesterol free, low in saturated fat and contain no artificial colours or flavours.

Breton Popped! uses a unique air-popping process that ensures that the chips are full of flavour and that each one is light, airy, crispy and nutritious. They have no artificial colours or flavours, no cholesterol, no trans fat and they are low in saturated fat. They come in three flavours: Barbecue, Cheddar and Sea Salt.
Barbecue flavour is always a favourite of mine, and there was no exception here. There are full of flavour and have the perfect amount of crunch. There is something about potato chips that always leaves me wanting more, and I didn’t find that with the Breton Popped! I enjoyed the few I had and was able to put them away and not overindulge. I’m not usually one to enjoy Cheese flavoured items so I let the kids give me their opinion on the Cheddar flavour. They gave three thumbs up! We all enjoy the Sea Salt flavour.
I think these make a nice light and healthy snack and I will be putting them out for the kids after school or when they have some friends over. And I love that I can enjoy a few guilt free!
