We’ve done the work so you don’t have to.
Orange Naturals has just launched a blog, Naturally At Home, tailored to helping moms bring natural health
into their homes. The blogs are written by two naturopathic doctors, a homeopath and a nutritionist.
I have always had an interest in natural medicine and often attempt to find natural remedies. My interest in holistic health increased last year when my son was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. The food that he eats and supplements he takes are now more important than ever before, and it’s important to me that he gets as many vitamins and nutrients into him as possible.
Orange Naturals sent us the products shown below to try. The package included ND Shake mixes for men, women and children in both chocolate and vanilla for each, a shaker, Probiotic powder for children and three tinctures: Calm for Kids, Cough & Cold for Kids and Digestion & Appetite for Kids. Due to my son’s health concerns, I have decided to consult his doctor before giving him any of the probiotics or tinctures.
ND Shakes: It’s not for every body. Just your body.
I couldn’t wait to try the shakes, so I added some of the Women’s Vanilla shake mix to my strawberry smoothie and it was good. It added a little bit of flavour and a whole lot of health. I was pleased with the vitamins I was getting with just two scoops of powder and it fits in perfectly with my morning smoothie.

I was very impressed with the list of ingredients in the ND Shakes and I saw no red flags to prevent me from letting my son give it a try. They are packed full of fruits, vegetables and nutrients so I was skeptical that my children would actually drink them. I made a vanilla drink with milk for Kellen and Avery wanted a vanilla drink with milk and strawberries (shown above). Kellen wasn’t crazy about the flavour, but he did drink it. This is a huge win with Kellen because he often refuses to eat, even when he likes something. Avery didn’t like it and chose not to drink it. I tried both of their drinks and I could taste a hint of vegetables or green tea in their drinks, and I’m sure that’s why they didn’t like them. We will try again with other smoothies mixes, but I had other ideas on how to get these nutrients into them.

I mixed four scoops of chocolate shake in a chocolate pudding mix, and two scoops of vanilla shake with a butterscotch pudding and created these delicious desserts for the kids. They loved them, and I was thrilled because they were getting nutrients along with their dessert.
I am very impressed with the product quality and I wasn’t discouraged by my childrens’ reactions to the shakes. They often dislike new or different foods and I think they will learn to appreciate the shakes eventually. In the meantime we will find more creative ways to incorporate the shake powder into their meals.
I’m looking forward to sharing more Orange Naturals products with you throughout the year. Take a look at the Orange Naturals website to see everything they have to offer.
