Relaxation is a way of life at Ste. Anne’s Spa, so it felt like the perfect spot to sneak away for a mother-daughter getaway. My Mom and I have never gone away on our own before, and I felt we both could use some pampering. As Canada’s largest spa, we were not disappointed with Ste. Anne’s Spa.

Taking time for yourself is crucial, otherwise your health, family, work and spiritual needs will suffer. The stone buildings and beautiful gardens were inviting, as were the staff at Ste. Anne’s. Upon checking in we were greeted with a tour of the buildings and provided comfy robes to wear during our stay. We were staying in the Haldimand East cottage which was just a short ride up the road from the main building.
We were invited to choose one wellness class and one spa service as part of our stay. There are many great options for wellness classes but I knew my Mom would enjoy the garden tour. We set out on our tour with two very knowledgeable guides, a friendly great dane who lives at Ste. Anne’s and three other guests.
Our tour guided us through vegetable gardens that grow food served at Ste. Anne’s. We enjoyed gorgeous flower beds, herb gardens and a field of rose bushes. Lavender is grown in a circular pattern (below) and most of the flowers and plants at Ste. Anne’s serve a secondary purpose. The rose petals are used in essential oils, as are other plants. It is refreshing to learn that Ste. Anne’s has a strong focus on sustainability.
There are 400 acres of land to explore at Ste. Anne’s, and the views are beautiful in every direction. Guests can follow trails for hikes and take in all of the beauty on their own.
We both chose a Swedish Massage as our spa service, which we enjoyed on our second day at Ste. Anne’s. Combining the massage with the hot tubs loosens the muscles and ensures you never want to leave the spa. We also tried the Eucalyptus steam room, the plunge pool and the indoor and outdoor hot tubs. We grabbed some relaxation in a room with massage chairs and foot massagers, and we enjoyed some delicious meals.
The menu at Ste. Anne’s is developed with health and flavour in mind. From eggs benedict to free range beef, we were never hungry during our stay. The portion sizes were exactly what we needed and we had no guilt when we enjoyed dessert.
The stay went entirely too fast because we enjoyed every moment of it. One of my lucky readers can also enjoy a stay at Ste. Anne’s Spa.
