As a parent of children with asthma and allergies, I am always looking for ways to keep them healthy. We keep up to date medications on hand, use hand sanitizers regularly and keep surfaces free of germs. Keeping their bedding clean and carpets vacuumed and steam cleaned it also important.
However, most asthma exacerbations are caused from the air we breathe. The air we breath inside our homes is five times more polluted than outdoor air, and we spend a lot of time indoors. So how do you combat the germs in the air? We use Fellowes AeraMax Air Purifiers. They are the only Air Purifiers to be certified by the Asthma Society of Canada. AeraMax units safely remove 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns.
We started using an AeraMax Air Purifier a year ago, and we have seen real results. In the past year, we have not taken any children to the emergency room for breathing treatments. My daughter has not required inhalers at all, and my son hasn’t needed them nearly as much as he has in the past.
My asthma was severely aggravated by a virus two years ago, that caused permanent damage to my lungs. A breathing test from 18 months ago set my lung age at 76. That was very hard to hear. My last test was about six months ago and my lung age was determined to be 64. It’s still not great, but it’s a huge improvement from before. I have not had any severe respiratory viruses in the past year either. I believe the AeraMax Air Purifier has made a huge difference in our lives.
We have now added the AeraMax DX55 Air Purifier to our home. This means we can clean the air in even more of our home!

The AeraMax DX55 Air Purifier is a compact system built for medium sized rooms. It can clean the air in rooms up to 195 square feet, which is perfect for our main floor. It runs quietly so it doesn’t interfere with conversations or television viewing while it is working hard to keep us healthy. It has a HEPA filter to capture 99.97% of airborne particles such as smoke, ragweed, pollen and dust.
This system is also certified by the Asthma Society of Canada and energy star certified. It is very easy to use. The  screen lets you know what the air quality is in the home, and you simply use the touch screen to adjust how high or low you want it to run.
