I started watching a new program on television this week. It is a show called “Pitch” and if you haven’t heard of it, it is a fictional show about the first woman to ever pitch in major league baseball. I enjoyed the first episode and think the show has a lot of potential but I have mixed feelings about the concept. I’m bothered that the idea of a female major league pitcher is so far fetched that an entire tv show can be based on it. In the show they state that a woman can never have the physical strength necessary to be a pitcher, so she has to come up with a special pitch to get there. I concede, women do not naturally have the same muscular build as men, but I don’t believe that women can’t have that strength. Watch the Olympics and you will see some incredibly strong women.
Women can be athletes, even in sports arenas that have typically only catered to men. Women are not seen on the fields with men for many reasons, and none of them have to do with ability. Starting in early childhood, boys are typically geared towards sports while girls are taught to focus on the arts. Playtex wants to help girls play on. Of course the first way that Playtex supports girls in sports is through their products. Playtex Sport pads and tampons provide girls with the protection they need while still allowing them to be active.
The Playtex® Feminine Care brand believes that nothing should hold women back, including their periods. That is why Playtex® Sport® and Playtex® Gentle Glide® tampons are the only tampons that feature a 360° Protection® tampon design to fit the life women want to live. Developed for women who lead busy and active lives, Playtex® tampons offer multiple levels of absorbencies to give women confidence and freedom in everything they do.
Playtex is also helping girls in high school sports through their Play On Grants. Take a look at the video below.

Playtex® Sport® may select submission(s) and award grants (totaling up to $50,000 CAN; up to $5,000 CAN per team) to one or more Canadian high schools. The application deadline is October 31, 2016 at 11:59:59 a.m. ET.
One of my lucky readers will also win a gym bag filled with items that help girls stay in the game, valued at $60.
