My daughter is a social butterfly and seems to get invited to a lot of birthday parties. While that is really nice for her, it’s a little hard on her brothers who get a little jealous when they don’t have a party to go to. Today she was off to another birthday party, so after dropping her off, my husband and I took the two boys to Tim Hortons for a treat.

It was right before lunch, so we shouldn’t have bought cookies, but we are both pushovers, so both boys got pumpkin gingerbread men. I bought a small steeped tea with milk and sweetener, and my husband bought a regular coffee. I often get sweetener in my steeped tea, but I don’t have a reason for the choice…except that I used to buy 1 or 2 steeped teas a day and wanted to reduce the sugar. I cut back and only buy it once or twice a week now, but old habits die hard and I still get sweetener. I asked which sweetener I was getting today and they they told me that they only offer Splenda. I think it would be nice to have a few options when ordering sweeteners, and suggested that maybe they could offer Equal as a choice. He didn’t know if that was possible.

Tim Hortons was very busy today. We only have one in town and I think everyone goes there after church! We stood in line for quite awhile and the kids working were really hustling! My boys had trouble deciding what they wanted, which wasn’t really helpful since it was so busy, but the boy working was very patient. It probably helped that we knew him. We decided to sit down inside so the boys could have their cookies and we could enjoy our drinks before heading home. However, the boys were taking a long time to finish their cookies, so we eventually packed everything up and took it home. Because of how busy it was, I forgot to ask for a comment card, but I did look up a comment form online and filled it out there. You can see my comments below.

I am not a fan of busy restaurants, so I think in the future I will stick with the drive thru on a Sunday, but the steeped tea was awesome as usual, and I don’t think I’ve ever heard my kids complain about a gingerbread man.
