While I may not be rich and live in a mansion, I consider myself very fortunate. I have a nice home, a decent vehicle, food on the table and generally everything we need. We have a lot of what we want too, maybe even a little too much. My kids have a lot of toys and games and they get to do a lot of fun things. They are very fortunate, and it’s important that they understand that. This year my husband and I have been discussing ways to teach our children to appreciate their blessings and give … [Read more...] about What will you choose from Gifts of Hope?
Last December my son started to lose weight. We had recently switched a medication and his doctor and I thought this was a result of the med change. He grew pale and tired over time, and I continued to take him to the doctor and the emergency room where they ran tests and treated his symptoms but had no real sense of urgency. Homelessness is a heartbreaking thought, especially when so many young Canadians live without a home to call their own. The future of Canada lies with today’s youth, yet due to circumstances beyond their control, thousands of young men and women are forced to survive on the streets with no one to support or believe in them. The winter months are particularly difficult on homeless youth since gusts of arctic air and blizzard conditions make it very complicated to stay warm. Homelessness is … [Read more...] about Youth Require Hope And Support To Make A Better Tomorrow
