I knew supper would be hard because the whole family is home and I needed to prepare a meal for them, and have a different meal for myself. It was a challenge that I didn’t always do well with, and I only managed to eat my Nutrisystem dinners about 3 times a week. I did use some of them as lunches though, on days when there wasn’t a lunch I was interested in.
For dinner, Nutrisystem tells you to have a fruit or vegetable, two more vegetables and one fat serving. I didn’t have any problem with that. It is easier to make vegetables and serve a salad along side the meal when I am making food for several people, and not just for myself.

I liked the macaroni and cheese and beef, and the vegetable lasagna. I did not really like the meat lasagna very much. The chili was okay too. I wish I could have tried the pizzas because they look really good, and I think I would have liked them. The ravioli was also good.
The Nutrisystem desserts and snacks were all delicious, although my children stole several of them out of the boxes and didn’t give me a chance to try them! I did try the BBQ soy chips, and they were excellent, and of course everything chocolate was great. I didn’t care for the cheese puffs or the golden pound cake. I was surprised at how soft and delicious the cookies were!
At the end of my month, I would say that I used Nutrisystem for 90% of my breakfasts, about 75%Â of the lunches, and less than half of the dinners. I have to admit my snacks didn’t last nearly as long as they should have, and I can’t blame the kids entirely. Somehow, I still managed to lose two pounds at the end of the month.
I think that seeing appropriate portion sizes and having a written reminder of what I should be eating in a day, was very helpful and contributed to my weight loss. I believe that if I was doing Nutrisystem long term, I would be more dedicated to the process and do even better at it.
