I think I lost a whole month somewhere, because it is already October and I barely noticed September! Thanksgiving is almost here and Halloween will come right after, and I have no decorations, costumes or candy!
My town doesn’t have a lot of options for shopping for this type of thing, so I decided to head to Shoppers Drug Mart in Stratford, Ontario. First I searched for the flyer online and found the flyer for this week that ends today, and the flyer for next week. I looked them both over and decided that there was more being featured in the flyer for this week, and a really cool promotion for the 10th to the 14th where they give you a surprise gift card with your purchase. I want to get in on that, but I don’t want to wait until then to get some things, so I decided to go today anyway and see what they have.

Griffin and I packed into the car and headed off to Stratford. The Shoppers Drug Mart in Stratford is fairly new and I have only been in it a couple of times. It is HUGE, and a very nice store.
You can view my ThisMoment slide show about our trip HERE.
We first saw a life size cardboard cutout of Justin Bieber, which led Griffin to launch into a discussion about how Justin “Beaver” lives here, lol. We walked the aisles (I walked, he rode in a cart) until we came across the seasonal section. They don’t have a lot of costumes, but the ones they have are decent. They do have a lot of accessories for costumes though.

There were a lot of hats to choose from, and Griffin liked this cowboy hat. There were a few different kinds of witch hats, some funky “cat in the hat” type of hats and some fedoras too.

There is no shortage of candy at Shoppers. Griffin really liked the edible wrist bands and the chocolate ghost suckers. I let him get himself a sucker and one for each of his siblings.

They had CD’s with Halloween music or sounds, and Griffin loved that he could press the buttons and listen to the sounds and parts of the music. He’s a short video of him playing with it.

I know this big box of candy will probably get eaten before Halloween but it was a good deal so I bought it anyway. My little Star Wars fans will love the Light Sabers, and the M&Ms inside are a bonus, so I picked up three of those and three chocolate suckers too. I like glow in the dark necklaces for the kids to wear when they are trick or treating, so I picked those up too. I also purchased several non-seasonal items like hair colour, earrings, makeup The cashier was very helpful and told me about the Optimum points program, so I filled out the application and got myself a points card. I was disappointed that I couldn’t use the card on today’s purchase, since it was a large purchase, but I guess I have it for next time.
