I was born with naturally curly hair. I know that a lot of people think that is a great thing, but when you have it, it’s not so great. My hair is always frizzy. I stick it up in a ponytail most of the time because I can’t handle the frizz. I have owned a flat iron for years, but it takes me over an hour to get my hair straightened and then it would look dry and still frizzy.

This flat iron is very different from the one I have been using. My old one had a teflon surface. This one has what looks like a ceramic surface. I am amazed at how smoothly it runs through my hair, and how fast it works! I have shared pictures and the process of straightening my hair on the left, and the entire process took about 20 minutes, even with me stopping to take pictures.
This flat iron does get very hot, and I found it a little difficult to create a “flip” at the sides with it because it is so slippery that it kept slipping off my hair. I don’t know if I could create curls with it, because it does have a wider surface than a lot of flat irons, but I think that wide surface is part of the reason is works so well for straightening.
I also was given a bottle of Curls DefineHer. As you can see in the pictures, I added this to my hair when it was damp. You can see how it reduced the frizz and just made my hair looks “neater” than before. I didn’t use it to try and define my curls because I was straightening my hair, but I have tried it for this and I like how it gives me more control over my hair.

The GK Serum is great for getting rid of frizz and taming my hair. I added it to my hair after I straightened it, and it added shine and reduced frizz. I have been using this daily, bu adding a bit to my hair whenever I see the little fly away frizzies happening. It works really well and doesn’t leave my hair looking or feeling greasy.
