When I was 18, my friend’s Mom took us out to dinner at Red Lobster. It was the first time I had ever been there, and although I wasn’t sure if I would like it, we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, Red Lobster was an hour away from where I lived back then, and nearly an hour from my current home, so I had never been back since!
I was invited to visit Red Lobster again, and try out their menu. It must be a popular place, because the first two times we attempted to eat there, the wait was nearly two hours and we weren’t able to wait that long. However, we figured Thanksgiving weekend would be a good time to go and headed there today. We arrived at 6:15pm and had a 25 minute wait for our table. It went quickly because we were able to sit at the bar while we waited, or we could admire the lobsters at the entrance.

When we were seated, our waiter appeared right away and took our drink order and then asked us if we had been there before. My husband had never been before, and since it had been over 20 years for me, we let him go over the menu with us. He took our drink orders and returned with our drinks and these delicious rolls (we dug in before I got a picture).

Neither of us have ever tried lobster, so we wanted to give it a try.We ordered this platter with lobster and two kinds of shrimp. There was rice and broccoli on the side, and a butter garlic sauce to dip in. It also came with caesar salads as appetizers. It must have been obvious that we were lobster virgins, because the manager (Ken) stopped at the table and asked how we were enjoying everything, and in a very friendly way let us know that there was an easier way to eat the lobster than how we were doing it, lol.

I thought everything was good. I’m not sure I would have lobster again, but I’m glad I finally tried it. The service was excellent, and the price was decent too. We had both entrees, our salads and alcoholic beverages for under $70. It’s definitely worth visiting, but don’t stop by right at supper time!
