While I was in Toronto having a blast at BlissDom Canada, my friend Jody and I snuck off for a treat at Starbucks. We wanted to find a place close to the hotel that had wifi, so Starbucks was a good choice, and we found one a couple of blocks up the street inside of Chapters. There were signs throughout the store advertising their new flavoured drinks, which Jody and I decided to try.

After being influenced by the signs, Jody and I both ordered flavoured drinks. She had a Pumpkin Spice Latte and I had the Salted Caramel Mocha.

We did not ask for sweeteners in our drinks, but I did ask the girls working in Starbucks what sweeteners they had available and she told me they had Equal, Splenda and Sweet and Low. She gave me a package of each sweetener out of the container that was available on the counter, along with the sugar and the other sprinkles and things you can add to your Starbucks drinks.

The girls working at Starbucks were friendly and allowed me to take some pictures. Unfortunately, the girl who served me had her eyes closed in the picture and I thought she would be unhappy if I posted that picture, but here is one of the young woman who made our drinks.

They answered my questions and were very helpful, and when Jody requested a drink that is no longer on their menu, they said they could make it for her (ultimately she changed her mind, but I thought the gesture was nice).

While I didn’t ask for a sweetener in my drink today, I do ask for sweeteners sometimes when I order tea or coffee. I have never paid attention to my choices of sweeteners when I make this request, because I thought that restaurants would only have one choice. I like to know that I do have choices and from now on I will find out what is available to me when ordering sweeteners.
