Banana Walnut Bread

Banana bread is always a hit with children and adults, and it makes a great holiday treat. Add a little cinnamon and some California walnuts, and this traditional favourite takes on a festive taste!

Ingredients:

  • 3 large ripe bananas
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup California Walnut pieces

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F
  2. Mash the bananas.
  3. Mix everything else together by hand.
  4. Put it into a greased bread pan.
  5. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

    Never tried to make this – a problem is that while I love bananas my husband hates them, so I would end up eating all of it – not sure if that is a bad or good thing
