My garden has been invaded this week, and our bunny visitor seems to have grown a bit since I saw him last. The kids have been thrilled to see him in the yard every morning, but I’m not quite as excited about it. Despite the snacking, things have been growing nicely.
My watermelon plant (picture below, top right of garden) is not doing well. It’s just not growing, but I keep watering it and offered a little Miracle Grow in hopes that it will still do something. We had a huge storm yesterday and the winds were hard on everything. My pepper plant is now on quite an angle. The pepper plant in the middle is still pretty little, but the zucchini plants are looking great!
This is the garden that the bunny likes the best. He ate most of the pepper plant that was in the top left, and snacked on the onions and some of my radishes (mid-right). I plant squash and cucumbers on mounds, and one of them washed off of the mound so it’s not where I planted it but I’m going to make it work anyway.
The tomatoes are coming along nicely. I find it interesting that the tomatoes at the back are quite a bit smaller than the front. The only difference that I can tell is that these are the closest to the fence and would have shade a little longer than the rest. The tomatoes that had cans around them also grew faster than the others. I have no idea why, but it’s interesting to note. The storm knocked down the marigolds, and the onions are coming up all around the garden.
