My kids, like most kids, like to cool off on hot summer days by having a water fight in the backyard. The neighbourhood kids are quick to join in too, and before we know it, the back yard is not a safe place to go if you want to stay dry. We don’t mind though, because we like to get in on the action too! Our problem is usually that we don’t have enough water guns to go around, but we do this year because Nerf has come out with some awesome water guns and sent them to us to enjoy.
We have been cooling off with these super soakers:
- SUPER SOAKER Electrostorm
- SUPER SOAKER Tornado Strike
- SUPER SOAKER Lightning Storm
You can see Avery below getting ready to blast her brother with the Super Soaker Tornado Strike. This is easy to fill, easy to spray and not too heavy either. Even the little kids can use it.
Our neighbour’s little boy just loves the Super Soaker Lightning Storm. The water goes in the round part on the bottom and it holds so much water that the lucky kid with this water gun outlasts everyone else. It also has a cool shield that attaches on top to protect the person using it, but the goal here was to get wet, so they took the shield off.
The Electrostorm is small and easy to handle. It requires batteries, which I wasn’t as keen on, and unfortunately it did stop working after a few uses, and a new set of batteries did not solve the problem. It was being used by a lot of kids, and it’s possible that it was completely immersed in someone’s pool, so I can not pinpoint what the problem was.
I think I need to go buy a couple more of the big super soakers we reviewed. They work really well and the kids love them. I love toys that get kids playing outside and having fun while being active, and water guns definitely fit the bill.
