Dolls are something that I have a lot of history with. Aside from once being a little girl and loving to play with my dolls, I also have a history as a doll artist and former niche doll magazine editor. While most of my expertise is around sculpture and artist dolls, I do have an appreciation for play dolls as well (because they all started as a sculpture made by someone’s hand!). When I first say the Hearts for Hearts Girls on television, I knew they were something special. The charity and cultural aspects make them unique and desirable, and kids will love that they are cute and have accessories.
Hearts For Hearts Girls is a charitable doll line and fashion collection from Playmates Toys, which seeks to empower girls to become agents of change in their communities, their countries and around the world. The line features six dolls inspired by real girls from real places allover the world. Each authentically dressed and lifelike doll has her own story to share and is working to change her community in ways unique to her home country. A portion of each doll sale is donated to a non-profit organization that helps children from that doll’s country. Playmates Toys is working with non-profit partner World Vision to make this possible.

I received three Hearts for Hearts Girls: Dell from USA, Consuelo from Mexico and Nahji from India. I love them all, and they will make fantastic gifts for some little girls. We are going to include them in our gift giving to others this year (I am holding one back for my own daughter, but we are working on providing for others this year and these dolls are perfect for sharing). I think it’s great that the Hearts for Hearts girls can be used to teach children about other cultures. Each doll as her own personality unique to her home land.
