Binsky and Bobo Summer Wardrobe Essentials

Since this is my first time reviewing for the amazingly awesome Sheri, I get to share a little bit of our life with you, her readers. To bring you up to speed, I do have my own spot on the interwebs but I love reviewing things for other people too! I have 2 daughters, Lauren who is 6.5 and Jillian who is almost 5. Much to my dismay, both of my girls are the complete opposite than I was growing up. AKA I was a serious tom boy (still am to a fault!) and both of my girls are not. Luck of the draw I guess? I try to be excited over dresses as they are and this time, I really was.

We were so lucky to review 2 new reversible  tie dresses from Binsky and Bobo. Whenever I get dresses for the girls, I’m pretty picky about what they are. So is Adam which surprised me at first! Plus, since Jillian’s primary mode of transportation is crawling, dresses will sometimes get in the way of that.

Lauren was so excited about her dress. The first side, which is above is a really fun pattern, followed by some accents of hot pink. Pink is her favourite colour so, she was really happy about that! It was super easy to put on, she did need a little help with the ties at the top, which makes sense since she can’t tie her shoes yet. She wore it to school and she exclaimed how much she absolutely loved the dress. When I picked her up from school, she got so many compliments on the dress. When I posted the teaser photo from Instagram, my friends all fell in love with the dress too.

(Excuse the crappy quality! Jillian wouldn’t stop moving and the flash made her flinch. But she loves the dress!)

As stated above, we’re pretty picky about what the girls wear. For Jillian it has to be durable and long enough to cover her knees while crawling, but not too long because then she’ll freak out in a sensory overload. I make it sound like so much fun! For Lauren, it also needs to be about knee length, but she’s a pretty easy kid to please when it comes to clothing and dresses.

Here’s Lauren showing off her “I’m cute” face. Either that or her ear was itchy prior to the picture. I’m just lucky she humoured me to take another picture.

When I was growing up, my dad used to joke that if he spilled something on his shirt, he’d just wear it backwards. Then inside out (the right way) and backwards again. 4 complete days of t-shirt usage. I don’t recommend this activity at home.  Pretty sure my mom wouldn’t have tolerated it either!

When reversed, I love that it has a sample of the other side at the hem of the dress. Lauren even brought up “Hey! If I get something on one side, I can just reverse it!” Great. Craziness totally runs in my family.

Jillian still loves to have her picture taken, so it was easy to get her to pose for this one! The dresses launder so well. They come out clean and not wrinkled which is good since I have adopted mount laundry. Just dig through the pile to see what’s clean. 😉

These dresses retail for $55 and totally worth every penny. Errr… Nickle? Since Canada phased out the penny? What does Binsky and Bobo say about the versatile dresses?

What makes this such a must have piece?
• This 100% cotton dress is reversible. Think: 2 outfits in 1.
• A spill? Not a problem, just turn it inside out and you’ve got a clean back up.
• Easy to care for, washer and dryer friendly.
• A ‘convertible piece’, the Reversible Tie Dress grows with your child. Adaptable armholes that grow or shrink by way of adjustable   shoulder ties,  and an A-line shaped style that easily fits growing bodies to convert into a stylish top.
• Equally chic paired with the matching Papillon 3 Top.
Made in Canada.

Looks like Lauren and my dad were on to something regarding spills! I have leaky lip syndrome (I totally made that up… Thanks to my medical degree from Google) and I’m constantly spilling things on my shirt. Only one could wish for a dress in my size. I’ve recently started wearing dresses and I still loathe them (too much spanx under there….) but this is a dress I could get behind, for sure! What do you think? The girls love them and seem to put them on right after the laundry is done.

Reversible is brilliant. They WILL stain up at least one side while you are out without a change of clothing.

I am one of the Instagram friends that fell in love with the dresses! Love how easy they would be to care for as Kendall never checks the laundry to see if anything needs to be hung up!

I also love the reversible feature and never thought to use this option to hide stains. Avery will love the option to have a clean dress and a wardrobe change half way though a part / day!

Those are all so cute! I don’t have a daughter to dress up but if I did I’d totally pick one of these up.
