I’m always looking for a new place to visit, and I think I’ve found a great option: Aruba . When I think of Aruba, I immediately think of the beaches. I imagine sunbathing on beautiful sandy beaches and cooling off in Caribbean water. Much of the seven-mile strip along the west coast is lined with resorts and packed with activity. Beachgoers relax on their comfortable lounges, lost in their favorite book or enjoying people-watching.
Swimming, snorkeling, kitesurfing, waterskiing, tubing, parasailing, banana-boating, and all kinds of wet ‘n wild adventures are just steps away on Aruba's beaches. The Caribbean beaches are more secluded and they are home to limestone coves. You can’t swim in these waters but they are a sight you will want to see. But the beaches are just one of the many things you can do in Aruba.
Nature lovers can enjoy horseback rides, beach walks and hikes along the rugged trails in the Arikok National Park. Others may enjoy golfing, mountain biking or touring the island in a motor coach or jeep safari. If you are a knowledge seeker like my ten year old, you may want to visit the Archaeology Museum and the fascinating Numismatic Museum. Kids will enjoy all the creatures at the Butterfly Farm, Ostrich Farm and Donkey Sanctuary.
If boating is your thing, you can hop aboard a pleasure boat or a luxury catamaran for a day of sailing, or spend your day on a fishing excursion. The slightly more adventurous boater may want to rent a jet-ski or wave runner to catch some waves. Pull on your wet suit and enjoy snorkeling in a brilliant underwater fantasy.
