December brings so many wonderful things. People seem kinder and giving is in the air. Children are excited about the holiday season, Christmas concerts are being held and families come together. Unfortunately it is also a time for spending a great deal of money.

To help manage the family budget, RateSupermarket.ca is here to help, offering free, up to date information on the latest personal finance offers, guides, tips and articles to help you get more from your purchases during the holidays and all year round. The best new tool is the Rewards Calculator, which picks out the best credit card on the market for you, based on the rewards you want (gas, cash back, travel or special rewards) and your current spending habits.

I know first hand just how beneficial these rewards plans can be. We have traveled using Air Miles and we regularly see movies using Scene points that we have earned. There are reward plans that fit every family!

I’m in the average, but the leader has an annual fee and one time bonus included in the rewards, so if I take away that, it’ll be close, so, I’m happy 🙂

The Scotia Momentum® VISA Infinite Card is apparently the card for me. I just had an ‘ah-ha’ moment while doing this, I’ve been doing this all wrong, I should be using my CC more for the rewards & paying it off asap vs using my debit, wow, that tool me to long to figure out, think of the cash back I could have got for christmas shopping.
