Hot Wheels goes hand in hand with learning

I’m gearing up for a year of homeschooling one child while helping the other two continue their learning at school. My youngest son doesn’t enjoy school as much as I wish he would, and we need to look for creative ways to help him learn. He enjoys playing with cars and Hot Wheels tracks, so I was pleased to learn about the Hot Wheels FUNdamental Learning Program.

There are a variety of fun activities for children to keep learning while they are at home. They can learn about patterns in the lesson above, which also includes pages of cars ready to be coloured and sorted. An activity book is ready for download and it has fun educational activities like the matching game below.

The children can test their dexterity by cutting out and putting together the variety of shapes available in the grade one lesson plans. These can then be used as garages for their hot wheels cars.

A variety of flash cards are ready to be downloaded and printed, including these car counting flash cards. What little car fanatic wouldn’t love these?

When the kids are looking for some more active learning, get them to build some Hot Wheels tracks and race cars. They can line the cars up in patterns, race them in order and just have some fun while they learn. My son enjoys experimenting with the various tracks to see what he can build, which is an excellent learning experience on its own.

To download these activities and many more, you can visit the Hot Wheels FUNdamental Learning Program at www.hotwheelslearning.ca. They have lessons available for children in grades Junior and Senior Kindergarten and Grade One.
