They have no idea what I’m feeding them, and I’m not telling!

•

Lunch time is never simple with my kids. The three of them always want something different from one another, which isn’t a huge deal on school days but it can be frustrating when I’m getting lunch ready at home. They will love something one day and the next time I make it, they don’t like it anymore. School lunches are the most challenging, since the kids quickly become tired of eating the same thing every day, and who can blame them? Unless it’s pizza, I don’t want it every day.
The single biggest lunch challenge we face comes down to healthy choices. Of course the kids are drawn to sugary treats and carb filled snacks, but I don’t want them to be running on sugar through the day. They need protein and fibre and grains, so I fill their lunch bags with yogurt and fruit… and then I throw it away when it comes home untouched and spoiled. It can be hard to find a delicious healthy snack.

At least we agree on one thing!
Knowing the struggle is real, Quaker has introduced the delicious healthy snack Chewy Super Grains granola bars to please the kids’ taste buds and Mom’s desire for healthy lunches. They come in two delicious flavours: Oats & Chocolate and Oats & Honey. They also meet the school’s requirements by being peanut-free and made in a peanut-free facility, which is very important to all of us. With 5 grams of protein, 2 grams of fibre and 8 grams of whole grains, these are a power snack that I’m happy to give my kids. Best of all, they taste great so they aren’t coming back home in the lunch bags.
As part of our family’s commitment to make healthy choices, these granola bars have become a staple for throwing in my purse when we head out of the house. By having them on hand, we can all enjoy super grains like whole grain oats, quinoa, sorghum, and barley without any guilt. No more drive-thru runs due to poor planning!
Chewy Super Grains have a dedicated space in my cupboard and I think they are so fantastic that I’ve shared them with some Mom friends of mine too. Give them a try! They may be the lunch game changer you have been looking for.

I will definitely keep my eyes open for these. I am really happy to see that these are peanut free because I find that many of the healthier granola bars are not peanut free unless they are almost candy.

It’s hard to find quick snacks that are healthy and that you know kids will eat. These seem pretty good.

It’s difficult to find healthy snacks that kids like and that don’t require preparation. These granola bars seem meet those requirements pretty well.
