Pounding the Pavement on Date Night #NaturallyatHome

•

When it comes to hobbies and activities, my husband and I don’t have a lot in common. He loves sports and big social gatherings. I like the arts and quiet evenings in. He’s silly. I’m serious. He’s laid back. I’m a total Type A personality. One thing we have always had in common is our love for the movies. We try to get out at least one night a month for a movie date night. It’s just the break we need to reconnect and have a little adult time and it’s a forty minute drive to our movie theater so we get a chance for some uninterrupted conversation.mike rundisney

In the past year, we discovered another shared interest. We both took up running. For our eleventh anniversary we ran a 5k at Disney World. Since neither of us had run an official race in decades, it was quite an accomplishment both physically and emotionally. It’s fun to have something that we both enjoy doing that is healthy and we can do with the kids if we can’t get away on our own. And if our date night is going for a run, I can put on running shoes and sweats, which is just my style!

We want to stay healthy so that we can continue to run together, so we both take multi-vitamins each day and drink power smoothies and protein shakes. Cutting out junk food is also key, and junk food always played a big part in our movie night routine. We still go to the movies, just not as often and we make sure we don’t go while we’re hungry. It really is more fun to spend time together doing healthy activities, and I think it sets a great example for the kids too.

Orange Naturals has all of the supplements we need to stay healthy, and to keep the kids healthy too. The Orange Naturals Kids Line recently received the PTPA Seal of Approval. You can learn more about Orange Naturals by visiting them on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/OrangeNaturals.

I admit I’m fortunate to have a 21 year old son who helps out, and the other kids are all in school so my days are my own. We sometimes take the kids with us to the high school track and then everyone can run at their own pace, or they can play on the grass.

Great to find something you have in common. |My husband and I have some common interest, we both do like to what sports. When it comes to movies sometimes there is conflict on what to watch. I like romantic movies, he not so much.

Wow wish my dates nights were as healthy as yours! My hubby has a very physical job so he wants to relax on his down time. We tend to pick up a fancy coffee and go for a drive or grab some treats for a movie at home.

My hubby and I enjoy movies for date night. I will take your advice, though, and make sure we don’t go hungry!

I am very lucky. Hubby and I are very passionate about charity, photography and are Ambassadors for the Hamilton Blues Society. Every night is a date night because it means a new adventure and meeting new (and some sometimes famous) people. My life is not boring.

It’s awesome that you and your husband have taken up running together. I miss running with a passion. I hope to be able to do it again one day.
I can’t say my husband and I have any unique date night activities. I just can say that they are really important to have and they make a positive difference in a marriage for sure.

My husband and I are much older at this time-a quiet meal at home or an occasional take-out is what we enjoy now. We are different in our hobbies as well. He loves watching Parliament on TV. I occasionally listen to Question Period. I love knitting, reading, cooking and sewing. He worked very hard as a farmer all his life and is in poor health at this time. We like our quiet life, our visits and phone calls from adult children, ‘grandchildren and even greatgrandchildren. We are very content that we still have each other for company.
