Copycat Montanas Antojitos

•

These copycat Montanas antojitos may not be a perfect replica but they are pretty close and they taste amazing. They have just the right amount of spice and savour and they are oh so delicious! We never go to Montanas without ordering their antojitos. In face, my daughter and I will go there just for appetizers after a day of shopping. The kapow shrimp is a huge win with my family as well but I haven’t figured out how to make that yet.

I was really happy with how these turned out. My daughter loves antojitos but I didn’t want them to be too hot for her, and with just one jalapeno, they were perfect. If you like yours a little hotter, it would be great with more jalapeno too.

These antojitos remind me of a recipe my mom used to make, with cream cheese, fresh mushrooms and bell peppers. There was no bite to it, but she did add something to the cream cheese that gave it a fresh summery flavour. Unfortunately, she doesn’t remember how she made it. I did try these I did make them they are similar to the ones from Montana is the only recommendation I would have is to not leave them in the oven for so long and separate them with the nonstick pan so I’d say about 20 minutes on 350 otherwise they get to crispy on the outside and don’t use as much cheddar cheese

I have never heard of Antijitos before but they seem very similar to a pinwheel appetizer my mom made ages ago. Your recipe sounds delish!

I used to make these everyday when I was a prep cook at Montana’s. Mix some hot sauce and a cup of bread crumbs into the cream cheese mixture. And put some garlic butter on top of the antojitos when you bake them.

Do you think I could prep the night before? Would they be ok left in the fridge overnight?

    1. Sheri Avatar

Yes, they are fine left overnight.
